Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for processing employee salaries and assisting employees with salary, wage, experience credit, and contract calculations.
Calculate salary changes and updates received from the Compensation Administration Office through PeopleSoft applications.
Process new hire calculations.
Calculate and adjust salaries for current employee changes.
Prorate and determine salaries for employees on leave or returning from leave including spreadsheets sent to employees detailing leave payments.
Process final payout of salary, vacation, and/or sick leave for employees terminating or retiring from the district.
Maintain and adjust leave balance information for employees terminating or retiring from the district via the employee Time and Attendance (eTA) system of PeopleSoft.
Verify employee paychecks and salary during monthly and semi-payroll runs.
Verify and ensure changes and updates are reflected accurately on paychecks.
Submit adjustments or corrections during payroll runs.
Review PeopleSoft salary audit report which verifies correct calculations of employees' salaries.
Provide world-class customer service and employee counseling concerning salary, wage, experience credit, and contract calculations.
Review employee personnel files to provide accurate counseling concerning salary calculations.
Research, review, and respond to customer inquiries regarding adjustments to salary payments and deductions on paychecks received.
Provide detailed salary worksheets displaying salary payments.
Work with the Payroll Specialist for employees overpaid.
Provide overpayment amounts and paycheck information.
Determine applicable leave payment details.
Process Leave Status Forms where necessary.
Coordinate payment information to employee.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
