About the Role

The Personal Lines Sales Agent is a dynamic role focused on growing our client base and fostering long-term relationships in the personal insurance market. This agent proactively identifies and pursues new business opportunities while providing outstanding service to existing clients. By understanding individual risk profiles and life stages, you will design and recommend tailored insurance solutions—including auto, home, renters, umbrella, and other personal lines products—that provide essential protection and peace of mind.
As the primary point of contact, you will be entrusted with guiding clients through policy selection, changes, and claims support, ensuring a seamless and professional experience at every touchpoint. Success in this role is measured by your ability to build trust, retain clients, and achieve sales targets through a consultative and service-oriented approach.

- Consistently meets or exceeds sales targets by effectively converting inbound leads and proactively generating new business through outbound efforts.
- Maintains a well-organized and actively managed pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up and clear progression of all opportunities.
- Demonstrates a consultative sales approach by conducting thorough needs-based assessments and recommending tailored insurance solutions aligned to each client’s risk profile and life stage.
- Clearly explains coverage options, terms, and value propositions in a way that builds client understanding, trust, and confidence in their decisions.
- Builds and maintains strong client relationships, resulting in high levels of satisfaction, retention, and ongoing engagement.
- Serves as a reliable and responsive point of contact, handling client inquiries, policy changes, and support needs in a timely and professional manner.
- Proactively identifies coverage gaps and cross-sell opportunities during client interactions and policy reviews.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of personal lines products, underwriting guidelines, and carrier requirements, and applies this knowledge effectively in client recommendations.
- Completes quotes, applications, endorsements, and documentation accurately and efficiently, with minimal errors.
- Maintains organized, complete, and up-to-date records within the agency management system (AMS).
- Effectively balances sales activity, client service, and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Adheres to all regulatory requirements, carrier guidelines, and company policies while maintaining required licensure and pursuing ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrates accountability, a strong work ethic, and a results-driven mindset, while contributing positively to team collaboration and overall office performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Proactively responds to and pursues all inbound leads and sales opportunities in a timely and professional manner.
- Conducts outbound calls and sourcing activities to generate new business and expand the client base.
- Performs needs-based analyses to assess client risk and recommend appropriate personal lines coverage solutions.
- Develops accurate, competitive quotes and presents proposals clearly and professionally to clients.
- Finalizes sales and ensures a smooth, seamless onboarding experience for new clients.
- Serves as a dedicated point of contact, building strong client relationships that drive satisfaction and retention.
- Conducts annual and life-event policy reviews to identify coverage gaps and recommend appropriate updates.
- Provides knowledgeable support for policy endorsements, renewals, and the claims process.
- Responds promptly and effectively to client inquiries and resolves issues with professionalism and care.
- Maintains strong knowledge of personal lines products (auto, home, renters, umbrella, etc.), underwriting guidelines, and state regulations.
- Clearly explains coverage details, terms, conditions, and exclusions to ensure client understanding.
- Educates clients on risk management and the value of maintaining appropriate insurance coverage.
- Accurately maintains client records and policy information within the agency management system (AMS).
- Prepares, submits, and processes applications, endorsements, renewals, and other policy documentation efficiently.
- Manages billing inquiries and coordinates the resolution of accounting-related matters as needed.
- Adheres to all state insurance regulations, carrier agreements, and company policies.
- Maintains required insurance licensure and pursues ongoing continuing education and professional development.

Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Experience
- Required: 2+ years of experience in an insurance sales role with a proven ability to meet quotas, including property.
- Strongly Preferred: Prior experience (4+ years).
Certificates, Licenses, and/or Specialized Requirements
- Required: Active state Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license.
