Job Description:
Arborist Sales Representative
Salary Range: $70,000–$100,000 annually (base salary) plus commission
Territory : Franklin Park to Burr Ridge, Oak Park, Forest Park

Winkler Tree & Lawn Care is looking for an exceptional Arborist Sales Representative to serve as the trusted advisor for residential and commercial property owners along Chicago's prestigious North Shore. Your office is outdoors, and you get a new view every day.
This is a rare opportunity to put your arboricultural expertise to work in a rewarding consultative sales career. You'll assess tree, shrub, and lawn care needs, develop science‑based recommendations, and build lasting relationships with clients who depend on your expertise.
What You'll Do
- Meet with residential and commercial clients daily to evaluate their tree, shrub, plant health care, and lawn care needs
- Develop and present customized proposals using consultative sales techniques, process tools, and current technology
- Build, grow, and maintain long‑term client relationships along the North Shore
- Create and update annual plant health care programs with science‑based treatment recommendations
- Supervise crew members assigned to client jobs, ensuring work is completed safely, per contract specifications, and to client satisfaction
- Collaborate with the management team on sales strategy, marketing, and territory growth initiatives
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on local tree species, common pests and diseases, and proactive management plans
What We're Looking For
Required
- Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and driven to create positive outcomes
- 3–5 years of experience in the tree care industry, green industry sales, or a related consultative sales role
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for client service
- Ability to identify trees and shrubs common to the Chicagoland region
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable working outdoors year‑round and able to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and driven by results
Preferred
- ISA Certified Arborist
- TRAQ
- Degree in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Plant Science, Turfgrass, Agriculture, or related field
- Experience with CRM tools and proposal software
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- Ability to walk properties, traverse uneven terrain, and perform on‑site evaluations
- Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to drive for extended periods within the assigned territory
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and reach as needed during site assessments
