The Sales Assistant will support the solar team specifically. Smith ranks #1 among all global independent electronic component distributors at an annual revenue in excess of $3.5 billion. Specifically on the solar side, we're in need of a Sales Assistant to process orders for brand new, PV panels, inverters, batteries, storage and more. This position is located in Albany, NY.
Provide daily operational support to the sales team by managing RFQs, preparing formal proposals and ensuring data in the CRM is accurate and up-to-date.
Lead the end-to-end administrative process for sales orders, including the creation and tracking of POs and SOs to ensure on-time fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Be the primary liaison between sales, purchasing and operations to verify inventory availability, inspections and shipping timelines.
Manage the onboarding of new accounts with excellent follow-through and detail tracking.
Maintain proactive communication with existing customers regarding order statuses, tracking numbers and logistics updates.
Ensure all transactions adhere to Smith's standard SOPs and trade requirements.
Competencies:
• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to manage complex, multi-line-item orders without errors. • A proactive mindset to identify potential logistical bottlenecks before they impact sales processes. • Excellent Excel skills.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) or two years in a sales support role.
