The Sales Assistant has primary responsibility for support of business unit sales and customer, transportation/carrier and vendor relationships. The Sales Assistant will work closely with peers, the documentation/execution team and other Sales team members to obtain feedback from customers and provide ongoing support. In addition, this position will maintain and grow established customer business, initiate new customer contacts, may generate sales leads and coordinate with the management team to bring new business to closure.
- Sales support activities will include, but are not limited, to lead generation, new prospect development, closing new business and maintenance of established client relationships.
- Interact with customers, vendors and transportation providers to identify, develop and help close on new opportunities.
- Provide timely quotes to clients and follow up in regards to competitiveness of quotes.
- Solicit existing customers for additional business.
- Respond to customer inquiries.
- Provide frequent and open communication with the documentation/execution team to resolve client issues quickly and efficiently.
- Establish detailed profiles and procedures that address clients' logistical needs.
- Actively document the required customer contact systems, to capture all sales and customer support activity.
