Gilman Contemporary, a contemporary art gallery in Sun Valley emphasizing fine art photography alongside painting and mixed media, is seeking a part-time Gallery Associate to support daily gallery operations. This is a hands-on role with genuine long-term growth potential for the right person.

Responsibilities

\n

• Greet and assist gallery visitors; support sales conversations, with opportunity to grow into independent sales over time

\n

• Support shipping and receiving of artwork, including unpacking, condition checks, and inventory tracking

\n

• Assist with exhibition installation and de-installation

\n

• Handle wall repair and preparation between exhibitions

\n

• Photograph installed exhibitions and film walkthrough content for social media

\n

• Maintain gallery inventory records

\n

• Keep the gallery space clean and presentable

\n

• Help prepare the space for openings and events

\n

\n

Qualifications

\n

• Punctual and dependable; this role requires consistent, on-time presence

\n

• Comfortable physically handling valuable and fragile artwork without hesitation

\n

• Experience in retail, hospitality, sales, or similar public-facing work

\n

• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently

\n

• Basic computer skills; some photo/video experience needed

\n

• No art background required. Training provided on gallery-specific procedures, artwork handling, installation, and sales

\n

\n

Schedule

\n

Part-time, 3 to 5 days per week, Wednesday through Saturday.

\n

\n

Pay

\n

Starting at $28/hour.

This position requires reliable, in-person availability in the Sun Valley/Ketchum area. We are unable to support relocation.
