Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and service-oriented Sales Associate to join our team! As a Sales Associate, you will assist customers with their shopping needs and ensure an excellent shopping experience. Responsibilities may include working the register, stocking shelves, stocking inventory, maintaining the store’s appearance and feeding some of the animals at Petland.  The ideal candidate will have previous experience in retail store customer service, knowledge of cash register operation and have experience with some of the types of animals.

Responsibilities 

• Greet each customer with a smile and provide assistance while they are shopping
• Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures
• Work at a register to ring up and carry out customer purchases
• Collect payments by cash and credit card
• Take added responsibility for stocking,  maintaining inventory, and store maintenance
• Drive sales by participating in targeted product promotions and initiatives as set forth by the company.
• Develop and maintain solid product knowledge in order to best help customers with their selection of a new pet.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, count, write, and communicate clearly and effectively
• Understanding of sales techniques and best practices in customer service
• Willingness to work well in a team environment
• Ability to quickly and accurately work a register
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule
