    Position purpose: To provide excellent customer service to our customers.


    Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks: (material responsibilities and essentials duties)


    • Greet and acknowledge every guest
    • Demonstrate solid product knowledge
    • Maintain an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions, and advertisements
    • Demonstrate friendly and helpful service to all customers consistently
    • Suggest additional items to the customer
    • Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers, including scanning or inputting barcodes
    • Ring each item on the correct key
    • Minimize cash discrepancies so they do not exceed +/- $5.00 per day
    • Thank all customers at the end of each transaction
    • Handle difficult/challenging situations with a high level of professionalism
    • Meet or exceed Chevron's customer service standards
    • Assist in floor moves, merchandising, and display maintenance
    • Stock the floor as needed
    • Complete housekeeping tasks as needed
    • Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention

    Qualifications: (minimum educational and experience qualifications, required proficiencies with specialized knowledge, required certifications, etc.)


    • Have basic math skills
    • Able to follow verbal and written instructions
    • Able to independently evaluate current conditions against standard and perform tasks necessary to bring areas to standard.

     

    Special Position Requirements: (Any hazard, risk, security issue or related special conditions which apply to the position, i.e. chemicals used, equipment used, cash handling, etc.)


    • Cash handling is required. Cash discrepancies must not exceed +/- $5.00 per day.
    • Hazardous Material Training, Propane Dispensing Training
    • Some exposure to cleaning products, (bathroom and toilet cleansers, window cleaners, wax, wax stripper, graffiti remover, paint remover etc), paint, and other chemicals is required.


    Equipment used: Hot beverage equipment, CO2 tank replacement


    Work Requirements: [Actual physical work required, i.e. standing at cash register, loading items onto shelves, sitting, working at a computer, etc – include approximate amount of time per day-- N (Never), O (Occasionally up to 3 hrs per day), F(Frequently, 3 – 6 hrs per day), C (Constantly, 6 – 8+ hrs per day), based on 8 hour shift.)]


    • Standing/walking (working at cash register) – C

    • Driving motorized vehicle (golf cart, forklift) - N
    • Repetitive pushing/pulling (scrubbing, wiping, mopping, sweeping, scraping, hosing) – C
    • Climbing, working from ladder or stepstool – O
    • Bending/stooping (merchandising, stocking etc) – C
    • Kneeling (cleaning toilets, floors, stocking, merchandising, etc) - O
    • Lifting over 10 lbs (stocking, merchandising, cleaning) – F
    • Reaching (stocking, merchandising, cleaning walls, windows, mirrors, etc) - O
    • Overhead work (stocking, merchandising, cleaning walls, windows, changing light bulbs, etc.) - O

    PART-TIME EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:

    • PAID SICK LEAVE (PSL) - Part-time and Seasonal employees begin accruing PSL at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked.  Employees cannot use PSL until after their 90 days of employment.
