Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Sales Associate for a retail home improvement showroom in Grand Rapids, MN. In this role, you’ll support customers through their home improvement projects by providing expert guidance, product recommendations, and outstanding customer service from initial contact through project completion. If you enjoy working with people, have an eye for detail, and like helping customers bring design ideas to life, this opportunity could be a great fit.
What You’ll Do as a Sales Associate:- Greet customers and create a welcoming, professional showroom experience
- Assist customers with product selection for flooring, cabinetry, countertops, window treatments, and related products
- Provide product knowledge and recommend solutions based on customer needs, style, and budget
- Prepare quotes, estimates, and sales orders accurately
- Coordinate with installers, vendors, and internal team members to support smooth project flow
- Follow up with customers regarding orders, questions, and timelines
- Maintain showroom appearance, displays, samples, and merchandising
- Perform basic cashiering and point-of-sale transactions as needed
What You Need to Bring to the Sales Associate Role:- Previous sales or customer service experience preferred (home improvement or retail experience a plus)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn POS and estimating systems
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple customers and projects
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Self-motivated, team-oriented attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move sample materials up to approximately 40 pounds
