The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Macy's to find qualified candidates for a Sales Associate in Staten Island, NY. Macy's is a major American department store chain offering a wide range of products, including clothing, accessories, beauty products, and home goods. The company serves customers through its stores and online shopping platform and focuses on providing a broad selection and customer-focused shopping experience.
Position Overview:The Sales Associate provides outstanding customer service while helping customers find products that meet their needs and preferences. The role provides product information, explains promotions and store policies, and makes personalized recommendations. Sales Associates also work as part of a team to meet individual, department, and store objectives while supporting hourly selling and loyalty program standards.
This position is located in Staten Island, New York.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide friendly, professional customer service and assist with purchases and inquiries.
- Meet or exceed individual and store sales goals through product recommendations and upselling.
- Maintain knowledge of products, promotions, and store policies.
- Support merchandising by organizing and restocking displays.
- Operate cash registers and accurately process transactions.
- Assist with inventory tasks, including receiving and stocking merchandise.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and work areas.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Prior retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Friendly, reliable, and customer-focused attitude.
- Familiarity with POS systems or retail technology is a plus.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
