Grainda Builders is hiring a Sales & Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth, build strong client relationships, and help identify the right projects for the company. This role owns the full sales cycle from initial inquiry through contract execution, while also supporting early estimating, project qualification, and pre-construction conversations.


This is not a simple appointment-setting role. The ideal candidate is a strategic closer with construction knowledge, strong financial acumen, and the ability to listen carefully, guide clients confidently, and protect company profitability. Assisting with preliminary estimating and budget development is part of the role, but the primary focus is sales, relationship-building, project qualification, and business development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full sales cycle from initial inquiry through contract execution
  • Engage prospective clients to understand their goals, vision, budget, and expectations
  • Qualify projects based on company fit, capacity, profitability, and client alignment
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, architects, designers, and referral partners
  • Develop strategies to grow revenue and meet or exceed sales goals
  • Work with estimating and project teams to develop preliminary budgets and proposals
  • Help define project scope and set realistic expectations with clients
  • Review project feasibility, constructability, and scheduling considerations
  • Track pipeline activity, conversion rates, and revenue forecasts
  • Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams during early project phases

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or client management within construction, custom home building, or high-end residential projects
  • Strong understanding of residential construction processes, project phasing, and assemblies
  • Ability to evaluate whether a project is a strong and profitable fit
  • Excellent communication, listening, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgets, margins, pricing, and cost drivers
  • Goal-oriented closer with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Buildertrend experience required
  • Bluebeam and Sage experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment

  • Base salary plus commission (uncapped) depending on experience
