As a Business Development Representative specializing in CNC Machine Solutions, you will play a key role in driving pipeline growth. You will engage with manufacturers to better understand their production challenges and introduce Ellison Technologies’ CNC solutions, including machining centers and automation.

This role is designed for someone who is looking to grow their sales career and get into the industry of advanced manufacturing. Extensive CNC or manufacturing experience is not required; you will receive training and develop your knowledge of Ellison’s solutions, manufacturing processes, and customer applications.

What You’ll Do

• Engage prospective manufacturing clients to uncover production challenges, capacity constraints, and growth initiatives
• Introduce the value of CNC machines and automation solutions
• Conduct outbound prospecting through phone, email and social channels
• Identify potential machine opportunities within both new and existing customer accounts
• Ask effective discovery questions to understand customer needs, timelines, and business goals
• Partner closely with Ellison sales engineers to advance qualified opportunities
• Develop knowledge of CNC technologies, manufacturing workflows, and Ellison’s machine solutions
• Consistently build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified machine opportunities

Responsibilities

• Proactively prospect and generate new leads within target manufacturing accounts
• Identify and develop interest from existing customers for CNC machine upgrades, expansions, or automation
• Conduct business development outreach across phone, email and social channels
• Qualify opportunities based on customer need, technical fit, timeline, and business impact before handing them off to sales engineers
• Document prospect interactions, notes, and opportunity information within Salesforce to ensure a clean handoff to the Ellison sales team
• Follow established prospecting campaigns, messaging, and outreach strategies
• Participate in ongoing training related to CNC fundamentals, industry applications, sales techniques, and objection handling
• Meet established activity, lead generation, opportunity creation and bookings goals

What We’re Looking For

• Previous sales, business development, customer-facing, or similar sales experience
• Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with prospective customers
• Comfortable conducting outbound phone and email outreach
• Curious and willing to learn about CNC machinery, manufacturing, automation, and related technologies
• Ability to ask questions, listen to customer needs, and identify potential business opportunities
• Organized and comfortable documenting activity and managing follow-up within a CRM
• Self-motivated with a desire to develop a career in sales and advanced manufacturing

We expect the base compensation to be between $55,000 and $58,000, plus commission With an OTE of approximately $65,000.  And although a remote role, the ideal candidate will live in one of the over 20 states that we distribute in nationally so that they are able to meet with our territory sales engineers, if moving into a territory role down the road could be of interest.
