About the Role
We are seeking an Associate, Growth Merchant Lead (aGML) to join the Outside Sales team. In this field-based sales role, you will drive DoorDash's expansion into emerging and underserved markets by building relationships with local and regional restaurant owners and securing new business partnerships.
This position focuses on face-to-face sales and requires frequent travel throughout assigned territories. Most travel will occur within a two-hour radius of Kalamazoo, though occasional overnight stays and extended travel days may be required. All business travel expenses are covered.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect, engage, and acquire new restaurant partners in emerging markets.
- Conduct in-person meetings with restaurant owners to demonstrate the value of partnering with DoorDash.
- Negotiate partnership agreements and revenue-share arrangements.
- Manage a fast-paced sales cycle and close new business opportunities efficiently.
- Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to execute territory growth strategies.
- Utilize sales tools, market insights, and partnership resources to maximize results.
- Travel extensively throughout assigned territories to drive market expansion.
Qualifications
- 2.5+ years of sales experience in a closing role or related field.
- Prior experience selling to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) preferred.
- Restaurant, food service, hospitality, or food and beverage sales experience is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation, prospecting, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and execute sales strategies independently.
- Willingness and ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
Compensation
- Fixed pay rate: $29/hour
- Uncapped commission structure
- Target commission earnings: Approximately $1,900 per month
- Opportunity to exceed target earnings based on performance
