    Sales Development Representative

    Oncology Nursing Society

    Remote | Full-Time

    Make a Difference That Matters

With a mission that truly changes lives, the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) is a special place to build your career. Every day, our work supports oncology nurses and advances patient advocacy, education, and professional excellence across the cancer care continuum. If you are inspired by purpose-driven leadership and energized by growth, innovation, and community impact, this role offers a rare opportunity to make a lasting difference.

Since 1975, ONS has served as the professional home for oncology nurses-developing evidence-based education, advancing treatment knowledge, and advocating for improved outcomes for patients with cancer and their families.

    The Opportunity

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) plays a foundational role in expanding ONS's institutional presence and advancing the organization's revenue growth. This position supports the Institutional Sales and Relations team by identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective institutional customers while nurturing existing relationships across the sales pipeline. The SDR serves as a critical bridge between marketing-generated leads and the sales cycle, working closely with the Institutional Sales & Relations Representative to drive meeting volume and pipeline momentum, and partnering with Customer Success Managers to re-engage and retain current customers. Through proactive outreach, responsive follow-up, and commitment to ONS' mission, the SDR helps connect oncology nursing professionals and their institutions to the resources, education, and membership that advance excellence in oncology nursing and quality cancer care.

    Sales Support & Meeting Coordination

    • Schedule discovery calls and product demonstrations on behalf of ISR Representative with qualified prospects
    • Prepare the ISR Representative with relevant prospect background, institutional context, and engagement history prior to meetings
    • Follow up with prospects and customers at defined touchpoints throughout the deal cycle to advance opportunities and maintain engagement
    • Support the ISR Representative in managing active pipeline by tracking deal stage movement and flagging stalled opportunities

    Customer Re-engagement & Retention Support

    • Partner with Customer Success Managers to identify lapsed or at-risk customers and execute targeted re-engagement outreach
    • Nurture current institutional customers through consistent communication, sharing relevant ONS resources, product updates, and continuing education opportunities
    • Assist in coordinating renewal outreach cadences and supporting CSMs with customer touchpoints at key lifecycle milestones

    Reporting & Team Collaboration

    • Participate in weekly team meetings, pipeline reviews, and sales planning sessions with the ISR and Customer Success team
    • Track and report activity metrics, including outreach volume, meetings booked, and lead-to-handoff conversion
    • Provide feedback to the ISR and sales leadership on prospect objections, outreach effectiveness, and market observations to inform targeting and messaging strategies
    • Maintain strong working knowledge of ONS's full product and service portfolio to effectively communicate value during initial prospect interactions
    • Demonstrate and support ONS's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all customer interactions
