JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Sales Engineer is responsible for collaborating and assisting the sales organization with providing qualifying accounts and opportunities for a service solution utilizing BCN’s Emerging Products & Services. The position will prepare and deliver technical network and solution-based presentations, and address all required areas to enable BCN to meet and exceed all of the customer’s technical and business requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND COMPETENCIES: 

  • Excellent working knowledge of the BCN Emerging Products & Services including, but not limited to, Hosted PBX, SIP Trunks, SD-WAN other Cloud-based products/services and select managed equipment services.  
  • Must be able to work well with cross-functional teams and other key functions including Sales, Network Engineering, Partner Support, and Operations to ensure all areas of the company are informed and aligned appropriately to provide a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Demonstrates advanced solution selling abilities and effective, proactive customer communications including solution proposal development and delivery. 
  • Create sales presentations and sales support documentation.
  • Design and conduct internal and external product training. 
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.  Must have the ability to communicate with C-Level executives and technical staff.
  • Excellent presentation skills are required.  Must be able to design and present highly technical concepts and solutions to internal employees, partners, and customers all with varying technical capabilities in a clear, concise, and easily understood manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to understand and resolve complex issues

MUST HAVE WORKING KNOWLEDGE IN ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SUBJECTS: 

  • Cloud/Managed Hosting Technology
  • PBX and Hosted Telephony solutions
  • SD-WAN / Hybrid Networking
  • Managed Network Services
  • Standard Network Topologies

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Business or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in the telecommunications industry
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills are required
  • Advanced knowledge and use of the Microsoft office suite 
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up
  • Ability to multitask within a fast pace environment
  • Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills and a sensitivity to understanding customer needs and requirements.

Ability to travel as determined by the business and as necessary for success.  Travel will only occur based upon safe and healthy travel environments under COVID-19 guidance and protocols.
