Sales Engineer – CNC & Automation Solutions

What You'll Be Doing as a Sales Engineer

  • Build and expand relationships with manufacturers across your territory
  • Evaluate customer operations to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
  • Recommend and sell CNC equipment, including mills, lathes, and automation systems
  • Conduct on-site visits to assess workflows and production processes
  • Partner with applications engineers to design customized solutions
  • Develop and present proposals highlighting ROI and productivity gains
  • Manage the entire sales process from prospecting through closing and follow-up
  • Maintain consistent engagement with customers to foster long-term partnerships

What You Bring as a Sales Engineer

  • 3+ years of experience in CNC, manufacturing, or industrial sales
  • Solid understanding of machining processes (milling, turning, automation preferred)
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business value
  • Proven success in building new business and managing accounts
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based role
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within territory

Key Qualifications of a Sales Engineer

  • Experience selling or supporting CNC equipment or manufacturing solutions
  • Ability to analyze production environments and recommend improvements
  • Confidence leading customer meetings, demos, and technical discussions
  • Self-starter with a high level of ownership and accountability

Nice to Have as a Sales Engineer

  • Experience with multi-axis machining, Swiss turning, or automation systems
  • Exposure to automotive, aerospace, or medical manufacturing environments
