Security 101 - New Jersey is now recruiting for a Commercial Security Sales Engineer that has experience estimating, designing, engineering, and configuring a full range of commercial electronic security systems. Primarily IP network systems and overall security systems for new construction projects and modifications for existing security systems. Our main office is in Eatontown, NJ

Salary:

Base salary ranges from $85,000 to $95,000, plus a commission split, exempt, commensurate with skills, security industry experience, and product knowledge.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience designing and estimating security systems for commercial access control, IP-based video security and intrusion alarm devices.

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years' field experience with access control, IP-based video security and intrusion alarm devices.

  • Strong knowledge of Access Control, CCTV, Card Reader technology, credential formats, biometrics, electrical/mechanical door hardware.

  • Proficient in network, POE and fiber optic systems and design.

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of building construction, communication and electrical wiring

  • Must be process oriented, with good communication and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge and practical experience of reading blueprints and engineering principles related to automation, alarms, and security systems.

  • Understanding of UL, NFPA, NEC standards related to security equipment and installation.

  • Knowledgeable of Fed-Gov requirements such as TWIC, CAC, PIV, NDAA, Buy America, Buy American, TAA, Davis-Bacon prevailing wages

  • Must be able to work independently and resolve problems to our customer's satisfaction.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Preferred knowledge and experience with AutoCAD or Bluebeam is a Plus.

Preferred certification in one of the following is a plus:

  • Access Control: Avigilon, Honeywell, LenelS2, Genetec, Software House.

  • Video: Hanwha, Genetec, Exacq, Axis, Milestone, Avigilon.

  • Locking Hardware: ASSA ABLOY, Von Duprin & Adams Rite.

  • Intrusion: Honeywell, DSC, Bosch & DMP.

  • Intercom: 2n, Aiphone, Zenitel.

Responsibilities:

Estimating, designing, engineering, and configuring enterprise security systems with minimal supervision. System knowledge of access control, IP video surveillance, intrusion, and visitor management, required.

  • Evaluate the technology needs of the customer with preferences given towards corporately supported technology. When such technology does not satisfy the needs of the customer, the incumbent will be responsible for engineering a solution utilizing technology that can potentially be considered on other projects.

  • Design electronic access systems involving access control, CCTV and intrusion and other security products as needed. Responsible for the drawings, procedures, cost estimates and equipment list. This work will be completed for end-users as well as contract construction representatives.

  • Advise sales and project team members regarding best products and solutions for each project.

  • Create or review formal documentation such as schematics and any technical literature to support each project.

  • Configure estimates and quotes for each project utilizing Fieldwire and Security 101 web-based software for quoting.

  • Respond to customer requests for information including the completion of any RFI or RFP.

  • Complete system design and drawings for accurate submittals to the customer.

  • Provide technical assistance to the Installation Manager, Operations Manager, and Sales Representatives as necessary.

Education:

  • High School (or GED) minimum requirement.
  • Electronics training from a Technical School or Military training in electronics or communications (preferred).
