Job Description:
Our client is a global technology consulting and software solutions organization specializing in digital transformation for the manufacturing industry. They develop enterprise software, automation solutions, and consulting services that help manufacturers improve operational efficiency, optimize production, and modernize factory operations.
They are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join a growing team supporting innovative smart manufacturing initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a software engineering background who enjoys working with customers and wants to transition into a technical sales and customer-facing role.
The position combines technical consulting, solution demonstrations, technical marketing, and selective software development work. You'll work alongside engineering, product, marketing, and customer teams to help communicate complex technical solutions and support customer engagements.

Responsibilities:
Technical Sales & Customer Engagement:
  • Support business development efforts for smart manufacturing software solutions
  • Meet with manufacturing and IT stakeholders to understand technical and business requirements
  • Present software capabilities and technical solutions to prospective customers
  • Gather customer requirements and assist with solution development
  • Support technical discussions throughout the sales cycle
Technical Marketing:
  • Develop technical presentations and product demonstrations
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to build and enhance working product demos
  • Partner with UX/design teams to create interface mockups (Figma or similar)
  • Create technical sales content that clearly communicates product capabilities
Software Engineering:
  • Participate in selected software development initiatives
  • Support API integrations between enterprise applications
  • Learn and assist with implementation of manufacturing software platforms
  • Support integrations involving MES, SCADA, SPC, and related manufacturing systems
  • Assist with factory automation and PLC connectivity projects
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Demonstrated experience working with software systems or technical projects
  • Understanding of software engineering fundamentals and backend development concepts
Familiarity with:
  • Microservices architecture
  • Containerization technologies
  • Cloud deployment models
  • Enterprise integration and middleware
  • APIs
  • Data pipelines and ETL concepts
  • Interest in combining technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities
Preferred Experience:
  • 0–5 years of experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, software engineering, or related technical roles
  • Exposure to manufacturing technology or industrial software is a plus but not required
  • Experience with product demonstrations, technical presentations, or customer engagements is preferred
