Position Summary: The Sales Engineer position is a hybrid engineering and sales position within the Swagelok distributor organization, reporting within the Technical Sales group with responsibilities for business development and sales agent support, both directly to specified accounts and indirectly through other agents. This associate is responsible for opportunity-development, design, quoting/estimating, sale and post-sale support of targeted assembly solutions. Key Responsibilities: Leadership Develop targeted assembly solutions opportunities at accounts directly managed, while supporting Swagelok products at the same time within these accounts. Partner with other sales peers for the development and sales of targeted assembly solutions to establish strong working relationships aimed at growing business through an expanded use of Swagelok solutions and services; help our sales force establish a personal reputation as a problem solver and solution providers Teamwork – Create and maintain an environment that promotes teamwork, energy, and efficiency. Display leadership through inter-departmental coordination to meet schedules, quality standards, and resource management. Demonstrate support for corporate programs through words and actions. Promote and maintain an environment where associates are trusted, respected, and treated fairly. Engage and motivate others through effective communication of the company mission, vision, and values. Department Maintain extensive interaction with customers involving negotiation, quote presentation, follow-up, customer tours, FAT visits, and post-sales follow-up. Responsible for front-end engineering for the purposes of developing proposals that when sold will maintain margin thresholds and meet customer delivery expectations. Lead and support Evaluations and Audit Services for customer applications with the intent of finding a solution for our customers that include Swagelok products, assemblies, and services. Collaborate with SSET Technical Services Project Managers to develop accurate and detailed proposals for Custom Solutions projects. Handoff Custom Solutions opportunities to Project Managers with all of the needed information and correct customer requirements with the intent of developing Custom Solutions proposals. Support the implementation, and/or execution of Assembly Solution’s strategic objectives. Advises others in company on how to solve complex customer and applications specific problems. Utilizes influence and collaboration to obtain results. Recognizes opportunities quickly and confront problems promptly. Displays courage on a regular basis. Position Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred along with 4 years in an application selling role.
