Sales Engineer (Large, Intermediate, and Retrofit Machines) Packaging Machines / Assembly Machines / Industrial Machinery

Why This Role Exists

Filamatic is looking for a Sales Engineer who thrives at the intersection of engineering and commercial execution. In this role, you will serve as the technical backbone of the sales organization-helping customers translate operational challenges into well-defined automation solutions using Filamatic's large and intermediate packaging systems and retrofit platforms.

You will partner closely with Regional Sales Managers and Application Engineering to qualify opportunities, shape technical solutions, and build customer confidence throughout the buying process.

What You'll Do

Qualify and scope capital equipment and retrofit opportunities through structured discovery conversations Translate customer requirements into clear application definitions and technical proposals Partner with Application Engineering to evaluate feasibility and define solution concepts Lead development of technical and commercial proposals aligned with customer ROI goals Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to plant, engineering, and executive audiences Support Regional Sales Managers on complex or strategic opportunities Gather and share competitive intelligence to strengthen positioning and win rates

What We're Looking For (Required)

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Packaging, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience 4+ years of experience in sales engineering, applications engineering, or technical sales within capital equipment or automation Ability to interpret customer specifications, line layouts, and performance requirements Experience developing and presenting technical proposals to mixed technical and commercial audiences Working knowledge of packaging operations, automation ROI, and OEE concepts Proficiency with CRM systems and proposal development tools

Nice to Have

Experience with packaging automation platforms such as filling, capping, labeling, cartoning, or conveying Familiarity with PLC/HMI systems and controls integration Experience serving pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, or personal care markets Exposure to CAD tools, line simulation software, or PMMI training

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $125,000 per year

Incentive Compensation: Performance bonus tied to proposal conversion rates, bookings contribution, and pipeline development metrics

Benefits: 3 weeks of annual vacation, 10 paid holidays, 401(k) with company contribution, parental leave, and comprehensive health (3 plan options), dental, and vision coverage. Eligibility for insurance and 401(k) begins the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
