Magnetics, a division of Spang & Company, has an opening for a Sales Engineer based in Pittsburgh, PA. This position will provide technical and commercial support to customers while serving as a technical liaison between Magnetics sales staff and production. The position will be hybrid and require traveling domestically and internationally as needed for customer visits, up to 30%.
Magnetics is a leading world supplier of precision soft magnetic components and materials to the electronics industry. We specialize in research, design, and production of high-quality powder cores, ferrite cores, and tape wound cores for applications such as chokes, inductors, filters, transformers, and power supply components for use in alternative energy, uninterrupted power supplies, telecommunications, aerospace, military, medical, and other electronics systems.
In this role, you will provide customers with sales and engineering support, including product training, technical guidance, and commercial and technical presentations. You will identify opportunities to grow initial and repeat sales, develop accurate sales forecasts based on economic trends and other market factors, and review customer drawings, contracts, terms, and conditions. This position will work closely with manufacturing to evaluate new product designs and their feasibility for mass production, manage and initiate new part approvals, and help resolve customer quality concerns. Additional responsibilities include writing and reviewing sales call reports to track projects across the company, creating marketing bulletins and technical presentations, collecting and reporting competitive information, and maintaining clear internal communication with other Magnetics Sales Engineers to track and pursue global projects.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering and up to 3 years’ relevant experience. A master’s degree is a plus. The ability to communicate in Spanish is desired.
