Overview

The sales estimator is responsible for accurately reviewing contract drawings, specs and addendums as well as entering data into spreadsheets for quoting projects. The estimator will work closely with internal sales team to accurately compile the information for pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare joist and deck material take off from contract drawings to meet customer deadlines
  • Read and understand drawings, specs, addendums, industry practices, plant and shipping restrictions
  • Track addendums and update bid calendar on Salesforce.
  • Assist DSM with coordination and bid specific information.
  • Communicate with customers, engineers, architects, and other internal departments as needed.
  • Work as needed upfront with sales engineer to assure accurate design and cost savings.

Qualifications

Required

  • Knowledge and understanding of basic building construction, design, drawings, specifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic geometry and strong math skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to coordinate, multitask and be detail-oriented under pressure

Preferred

  • A minimum of 2 year degree in Arch/Eng design OR at least 2 years of experience in estimating or drafting from construction related field.
