Sales Manager

Job Summary

Boulder Weekly is entering an exciting new chapter, and we're looking for a Sales Manager to help lead that growth. This is a relationship-driven role focused on building partnerships with local businesses while helping shape the future of one of Boulder County's most recognized media brands.

As a Sales Manager, you'll work directly with business owners, marketing professionals, and community leaders throughout Boulder County and the surrounding Northern Colorado communities to develop advertising and marketing strategies that help businesses grow. Rather than selling a single product, you'll represent a diverse portfolio of trusted local media brands, including Boulder Weekly, The Surveyor, Best of Boulder, digital media, newsletters, events, podcasts, and specialty publications.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys meeting people, building long-term relationships, and becoming a trusted marketing partner within the local business community. You'll have the opportunity to work with businesses ranging from neighborhood restaurants and retailers to healthcare providers, professional services, manufacturers, nonprofits, and regional organizations throughout Boulder, Longmont, Louisville, Lafayette, Superior, Erie, Broomfield, Berthoud, Mead, Johnstown, Loveland, and the surrounding communities.

What You'll Do

• Develop new business through consistent in-person visits, networking, phone calls, and email outreach.
• Build long-term relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and marketing professionals.
• Present customized advertising and sponsorship opportunities across Boulder Weekly, The Surveyor, Best of Boulder, print publications, websites, newsletters, social media, podcasts, events, and specialty publications.
• Generate new leads through networking, referrals, business organizations, and community involvement.
• Meet with business owners to understand their goals and recommend marketing solutions that fit their needs.
• Create customized advertising proposals and cross-platform marketing packages.
• Follow up consistently with prospects and clients to build lasting partnerships.
• Stay active in the community by attending networking events, chamber functions, business openings, festivals, and local events.
• Maintain an organized sales pipeline and accurately track outreach, proposals, and opportunities.
• Work closely with editorial, design, and marketing teams to ensure campaigns are executed successfully.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts through additional publications, events, and sponsorships.

• Previous sales, business development, marketing, or customer-facing experience is preferred but not required.

Territory: Boulder County, Boulder, Longmont, Louisville, Lafayette, Superior, Erie, Broomfield, Berthoud, Mead, Johnstown, Loveland, and surrounding Northern Colorado communities.

Schedule: Flexible, combining field sales, community networking, and remote work.

Compensation: Performance-based with uncapped commissions, providing exceptional earning potential for motivated sales professionals who enjoy building relationships and helping local businesses succeed.
