Job Title: Sales Manager – Midwest (Industrial & Performance Chemicals)
Location: Michigan (Midwest Territory – Michigan preferred)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Work Model: Remote / Field-Based
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $80,000–$120,000 base (DOE) plus commission/bonus, automobile allowance, and comprehensive benefits

You’ll work directly with end users, OEMs, and distribution partners, allowing you to influence applications, specifications, and long-term account strategy rather than transactional sales.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop new markets, customers, and application opportunities for specialty and performance chemical products while expanding presence within existing accounts.
  • Drive new business through value-based, technical project and solutiion selling that highlights formulation performance, application fit, and total cost-in-use advantages.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through timely follow-up, urgency, and responsiveness across all stages of the sales cycle.
  • Negotiate pricing, supply agreements, and commercial terms that reflect delivered value.
  • Provide informed product guidance and application insight to ensure customer requirements are met and satisfaction is sustained.
  • Work closely with and motivate chemical distribution partners through joint selling and growth initiatives, while owning and growing an established territory with clearly defined near- and mid-term revenue and market expansion goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related chemistry-focused discipline.
  • Minimum of three years of B2B sales experience within the chemical industry.
  • Experience selling specialty or performance chemicals.
  • Demonstrated success selling directly to customers, including end users and/or OEMs.
  • Proven capability in technical or solution-based selling.
  • Exposure to industrial and automotive markets.
  • Familiarity with Specialty Additives, Performance Additives, Defoamers, Antifoams, Silicone Additives, Silicone Release Agents, Industrial Additives, Automotive Additives, Polymer Additives, Coatings, Adhesives or Sealants
  • Laboratory, bench-level, or R&D experience supporting formulation, testing, or application development
  • Working knowledge of industrial and automotive regulations, specifications, and compliance requirements
Additional Information
The position requires approximately 60% travel, including regular in-field customer and distributor visits averaging three days per week, monthly air travel
