Industrial Sales Manager
Joliet / Channahon, IL Territory (Hybrid / Remote / Field-Based)
Compensation: $120,000 to $140,000 base plus commission, total comp range $150,000 to $200,000

About the Role
A well-established 100% made in America premium industrial manufacturer is looking for a driven outside sales professional to own a defined territory with a heavy concentration of process industry accounts including chemical plants, refineries, oil & gas and industrial manufacturers. The territory comes with an inherited book of business and significant upside potential.
This is a demand creation role with full back-office support. Inside sales, customer service, and application engineers handle orders, quotes, logistics, and complex technical applications. Your job is to be in front of customers, build relationships, and find new opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Own and develop the assigned territory through proactive demand creation and new relationship building
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with target process industry accounts
  • Conduct regular customer visits, needs assessments, and business reviews with key decision makers
  • Expand wallet share within existing accounts by uncovering additional applications and opportunities
  • Coordinate with inside sales, customer service, and application engineers to deliver a seamless customer experience
  • Build and maintain an accurate sales pipeline with consistent activity and forecasting
  • Represent the company at trade shows, customer events, and industry functions as needed
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive activity, and customer needs within the territory


Requirements

  • BS/BA required; Engineering, Operations, Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field is preferred
  • 5+ years of sales in an outside B2B industrial sales; candidates with less experience and strong fundamentals will be considered
  • Process industry background strongly preferred including oil and gas, refining, or chemical manufacturing
  • Comfortable working in plant and refinery environments including wearing PPE and navigating large industrial facilities
  • Proven ability to build relationships and convert new business, not just manage existing accounts
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate technical value propositions
  • Ability to read technical drawings and P&IDs is a plus
  • Self-motivated, high energy, and comfortable selling a premium product at a price premium
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite


Compensation and Benefits

  • $120,000 to $140,000 base salary plus commission, total comp range $150,000 to $200,000
  • Top performers on the current team earn well over $200,000 with no earnings cap
