We are seeking a team‑oriented and tactically minded Sales Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in selling and success moving into a sales leadership role. This position is ideal for someone who has been leading a small sales or business development team. B2B sales and sales management experience in technology is preferred. The Sales Manager is expected to be a builder of the people on their team. We are looking for candidates who also demonstrate leadership, mentoring, or coaching involvement outside of work.

Salary

Starting at $90,000

100 percent to plan compensation starting at $125,000


Job Overview

The Sales Manager oversees the Sales Team and is responsible for selling our product line(s). Responsibilities include the planning, implementation, and control of sales processes; training, motivating, and evaluating members of the sales team; and managing an assigned list of accounts.

The fundamental role of the Sales Manager is to manage the Sales Team and sales process in a manner that effectively contributes to the organization's goals. The Sales Manager works with leadership to decide how many salespeople to employ, how best to select and train them, what sort of compensation and incentives to use to motivate them, what type of presentations they should make, and how the sales function should be structured for maximum contact with customers. The Sales Manager is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities.


The Sales Manager directs the Sales Team and provides leadership toward the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Sales Leadership:

• Responsible for obtaining profitable results through the sales team by developing the team through motivation, counseling, skills development, and product knowledge

• Responsible for managing the sales team, developing business plans covering sales, managing sales pipelines, expense controls, meeting agreed‑to targets, and promoting the organization’s presence

• Lead and schedule weekly and monthly team meetings with the sales team

• Embody company culture and maintain high employee engagement

• Meet pre‑determined revenue goals through the activities of direct reports

• Ensure correct usage of CRM and other sales applications

• Train and ensure adherence to sales process

Personnel:

• Plan and implement a specific appraisal system that describes the responsibilities and performance standards for each member of the sales team, ongoing management of account assignments, compensation plans, and accountability plans for team members

• Personally observe the performance of inside sales representatives and field sales representatives on a regular basis

• Responsible for the planning, direction, organization, and training of sales representatives to accomplish specific objectives

• Provide high standards of ongoing training for personnel so they possess sufficient technical knowledge to present information on the company’s products in an accurate and balanced manner

• Train new team members to ensure success

• Coach and develop direct reports

Administration:

• Manage the sales administration function, operational performance reporting, streamlining processes and systems wherever possible, and advise senior management on maximizing business relationships and creating an environment where customer service can flourish

• Monitor the performance of the sales team by establishing a system of reports and communications within the CRM involving sales reports, cyclical sales meetings, and related activities

• Assign accounts and contacts, set sales goals, and establish training programs for the organization’s sales representatives

• Track sales team metrics and report data to leadership on a regular basis

• Implement performance plans according to company procedure

Planning:

• Assist in the development of the annual sales plan, specifically advising on realistic forecasts for products and sales positions based on historical data, market trends, competitive activity, promotional strategy, and sales effort

• Analyze sales statistics to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and to monitor customers' preferences

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear

• Frequently required to sit for long periods of time but will also be required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch or squat

• Able to regularly lift and move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

• Ability to work in a non‑climate‑controlled warehouse with surrounding noise

• Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day

• Fluently speak, read, and write in English
