At Amazon, we"re working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, innovative, and driven leaders. If you would like to help us build the place to find and buy anything online, this is your chance to make history and be involved in growing our business by leading and supporting operational planning at a global scale. The Rapid Asset Deployment (RAD) organization within Tech - Supply Chain is growing globally to improve our responsiveness to our customers.

Tech - Supply Chain manages all IT infrastructure and end-user equipment deployed across Amazon"s network globally. The team is responsible for providing end-to-end solutions that power the physical fulfillment of our customers" orders, including management of new site launches across the globe that directly support shipping packages to millions of Amazon.com customers. RAD is the physical warehouse network that fulfills these orders, handling the hands-on preparation, deployment, and recovery of IT equipment at scale.

The Sales & Operations Execution Manager owns the execution planning function for Global RAD Operations, serving as the critical bridge between demand planning and site-level execution. This role translates WHAT gets fulfilled into WHERE to fulfill, HOW to staff, and WHEN to execute across the RAD network. The primary focus is managing the execution of supply to meet demand by developing robust and standardized processes across a global network of warehouses. The S&OE Manager will build and operate the three core pillars: weekly operational planning cycles, execution support for order resolution, and long-term capacity programs that ensure the network can absorb future demand proactively rather than reactively.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own and operate the end-to-end GRO S&OE function, running weekly operational planning cycles that produce executable site-level plans with volume allocation and labor requirements
  • Own the end-to-end S&OE process: translate S&OP outputs into executable short-term supply plans, monitor execution against the plan, and drive rapid resolution of gaps (e.g., demand spikes, supply disruptions, capacity constraints)
  • Lead network-level level-loading, distributing volume to available capacity and preventing node overloading while maintaining target buffer capacity (20%) across all sites
  • Drive structured resolution of unfulfillable orders by partnering with Supply Chain Planning, Procurement, and site operations to clear blockers and convert demand fulfillable status
  • Manage the capacity program across three horizons: current capacity (0-90 days), committed capacity (30-180 days), and potential capacity (6-24 months) to trigger investment decisions based on demand thresholds
  • Coordinate regional operations planners covering North America and Rest of World, ensuring consistent planning cadence and output quality across all regions
  • Maintain process path baselines and engineered standards that convert volume forecasts into labor hour requirements and capacity models
  • Drive measurable improvements in forecast-to-plan accuracy, unfulfillable conversion rates, and reduction of reactive overtime and expedited freight costs

A day in the life

We are looking for an S&OE Manager based in the US who can operate at the intersection of demand translation, execution planning, and capacity investment. This role will be the single point of accountability for converting demand plan into executable site-level operations that deliver 95% On-Time Ship performance while eliminating the reactive posture driving annual inventory failure costs and premium labor expenses down.

Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
