Job Title: Heavy Duty Truck Salesperson

Job Summary

The Heavy-Duty Truck Salesperson is responsible for selling new and used heavy-duty trucks to commercial customers, including fleets, owner‐operators, and municipal clients. This role focuses on building long-term customer relationships, understanding customer operational needs, and delivering tailored vehicle and financing solutions to meet business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and develop new customer relationships through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events
  • Maintain and grow an assigned customer portfolio, including fleet and repeat customers
  • Identify customer transportation and operational needs and recommend appropriate truck specifications and configurations
  • Present and demonstrate vehicles, features, and value propositions to customers
  • Prepare and present price quotes, proposals, and bids
  • Negotiate pricing, trade-ins, financing, and delivery terms to close sales
  • Coordinate with finance, service, and parts departments to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Track sales activity, leads, and opportunities in CRM systems
  • Stay informed on product updates, industry trends, emissions regulations, and competitor offerings


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of sales experience.
  • Strong understanding of truck specifications, engines, transmissions, and vocational applications (or willingness to learn).
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
