Position Overview
Responsible for sales, service and marketing of products produced in one or more operating companies in Nebraska and/or Iowa.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Comprehensive sales, marketing, and promotion of all products and services to a customer list of commercial, municipal, and residential accounts.
- Follow up on all sales, quotes, and collection procedures on customer accounts.
- Prioritize and plan daily objectives to ensure maximum coverage of high-impact activities and customer engagements.
- Establish and regularly review robust Key Account Plans targeting the appropriate set of customers and fully execute the objectives laid out in those plans.
- Actively pursue new customer, dormant customer, and project opportunities. Track, follow through and communicate these opportunities with the Sales Manager and Operating Company Leadership.
- Accurate communication of product pricing based on given cost factors and guidance. Work closely with estimating and operations personnel to maximize opportunities.
- Active communication with other divisions and lines of business within the company to include but not limited to: Safety, Quality Control, Construction, Billing and Accounts Receivable.
- Actively track and record market intelligence, market conditions, and sales and service activities within the market.
- Developing and strengthening relationships with all existing, past, and potential customers and hauling sub-contractors. Maintain a heavy emphasis on in-person visits to build meaningful customer relationships.
- Provide a high level of "customer service" to all customers.
- Log daily sales activities, customer interactions, competitor actions, and relevant macroeconomic insights into Salesforce to support data-driven decisions.
- Conduct regular visits to our plant locations, job sites and customer offices.
- Become an active member in Industry Associations by attending luncheons, association functions, volunteering for positions on their boards and generally developing relationships with the members and the leadership of those organizations.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and/or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Relevant construction materials and/or sales experience preferred.
Work Requirements
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets company requirements.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in policy and procedure handbooks and manuals.
- Regular, on-time and consistent attendance is required and must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
- Report to designated place of business dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.

Physical Requirements

- Able to communicate with others by email, telephone and in person.
- Able to utilize a computer for word processing, email communication, and preparation of documents and presentations.
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to frequently walk, stand and sit as well as occasionally required to reach.
- Ability to occasionally climb stairs, ladders, inclined walkways, and access elevated platforms.
Work Environment
While performing field duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. While performing non-field duties of this position, the environment is typical of an office setting and the noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
