Job Details

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of outside B2B sales experience specifically selling natural gas generators, industrial engines, generator packages, gensets, compression-driven power systems, backup power equipment, prime power systems, rotating equipment, or related industrial/mechanical solutions
  • Strong technical sales background with the ability to understand mechanical systems, engineered solutions, engine controls, switchgear, electrical distribution systems, and related power generation equipment
  • Proven experience managing large geographic territories, developing new business, and growing existing industrial or energy-focused accounts
  • Experience selling into industrial, oil & gas, utility, manufacturing, EPC contractor, infrastructure, construction, or heavy industrial markets preferred
  • Ability to identify customer operational needs and recommend customized power generation and mechanical equipment solutions
  • Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and consultative sales skills
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in a general technical, business, or related field preferred, equivalent industry experience considered
  • Ability to travel approximately 40–60% throughout assigned territory for customer meetings, site visits, and project support

Daily Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with industrial, energy, utility, EPC, and manufacturing customers
  • Prospect and generate new business opportunities within assigned territories
  • Travel to customer sites to evaluate equipment needs and operational challenges
  • Partner with engineering and technical teams to develop equipment solutions and proposals
  • Prepare quotes, pricing packages, presentations, and technical sales documentation
  • Manage customer pipelines, forecasts, and CRM activity reports
  • Conduct product demonstrations and participate in customer meetings and trade events
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and project terms with customers
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends within the power generation industry
  • Coordinate with internal service, parts, and operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction and project execution
