Founded in 1999 as a home security company, Vivint grew rapidly due to a expansive sales staff and passion for customer service. However, by 2009 our CEO was frustrated with the lack of innovation in the security industry, and the fact that we were limited in what we could offer our customers due to reselling third party equipment.
By 2012, Blackstone Group - the largest alternative investment group in the world - purchased Vivint for $2.3 billion dollars. This provided the capital to begin designing and manufacturing our own equipment. Since then, Vivint has become the largest and best positioned company in the smart home industry.
