The Sales Representative plays a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while actively supporting our culture and values. This position is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, teammates, and industry partners, including steel fabricators, engineers, and architects. Success in this role requires a collaborative mindset, a commitment to service excellence, and a focus on business development opportunities.This position requires regular in-office presence, the ability and willingness to travel, reliable transportation, and flexibility to work beyond 40 hours per week when business needs require.
Key responsibilities include providing professional, accurate, and timely communication to both internal and external customers, ensuring the highest level of service throughout the project lifecycle. The Sales Representative will also prepare accurate joist and deck estimates from contract documents and coordinate closely with engineering, fabrication, and delivery teams to support successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:• High school diploma
• Experience in customer service and sales related roles
• Valid Driver’s License and Proof of car insurance
• Willingness to relocate to a Nucor facility or District Sales Office in the future
• Authorization to work in the U.S without current or future sponsorship
• 2-year or 4-year college degree
• Two or more years of experience in the steel joist and deck industry
• Experience in reading architectural and structural drawings, project specifications, along with a general understanding of the construction process
