Title: Sales Support Representative

Department: Client Services

 

Position Summary:

The Sales Support Representative is responsible for interacting and collaborating with MCPc Account Managers, Sales Support staff, and MCPc’s client base with the primary objective of supporting post sales administrative support and ensuring alignment between Sales and Operations teams. The role supports customer service, order management, CRM maintenance, opportunity management, and issue resolution while delivering best-in-class customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage customer requests through the MCPc quoting process to ensure timely customer response.
  • Manage open opportunities and use various client-specific vendor portals.
  • Assist with required maintenance of customer records.
  • Communicate daily with customers and employees in a professional manner verbally and in writing.
  • Manage tickets on department service board.
  • Provide critical communication points to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Escalate issues promptly to Client Service Leadership with required documentation.
  • Process customer orders accurately by reviewing purchase orders, freight terms, pricing, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Manage customer order fulfillment functions and open order backlogs.
  • Manage MCPconnect customer ordering portal and train customers on use.
  • Create bulk order requests, consignment POs, and orders.
  • Manage system integrations including EDI, Ecommerce, and Quote Exports.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve client issues.
  • Maintain product, vendor, pricing, and customer knowledge to exceed expectations.
  • Identify new opportunities within the existing client base.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Client Services leadership.

Key Outcomes of this Position:

  • Provide timely and accurate customer support and order management.
  • Maintain effective opportunity and backlog management processes.
  • Promote optimized cash flow and high customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant customer service experience or formal business education required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.
  • Reliable car transportation.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
  • CRM experience preferred.
  • ERP systems experience (JDEdwards or In4Suite) valuable but not required.
  • Industry experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent sitting with occasional walking, carrying light objects, grasping, and reaching.
  • Rare stooping/crouching and ability to speak, listen, and maintain clarity of vision.
  • Work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment with occasional driving to office or customer locations.
