Summary

Lidl US is searching for the next Sales Systems & Solutions Consultant to join our team! The Sales Systems & Solutions Consultant is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and optimization of store-level technologies, including Manned Checkouts (MCO), Self-Service Checkouts (SCO), Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL), and Scan & Go (SSC) systems. This role serves as a critical bridge between International standards and national execution, ensuring that sales systems drive operational efficiency, minimize loss, and enhance the customer checkout experience. The Consultant will lead cross-functional projects, analyze system performance, and provide high-level support to regional teams to ensure seamless technology integration across the store network.

What You'll Do

Essential Functions

  • Effectively manage projects and project timelines while working independently and collaboratively to achieve short, medium, and long-term departmental visions
  • Evaluate industry best practices and monitor developments and innovations within the retail sector particular to their business that may be beneficial to the daily operations of the organization
  • Analyze and evaluate projects and develop ideas and/or practical solutions for streamlining business processes
  • Lead the comprehensive planning and execution of rollout strategies for MCO, SCO, ESL, and Digital Signage across the national store network to ensure technological alignment with business growth
  • Analyze customer feedback and performance KPIs, such as checkout utilization and satisfaction scores, to refine sales systems for a frictionless and user-friendly shopping experience
  • Serve as the strategic gatekeeper and primary liaison between IT, Construction, Procurement, and International HQ to drive alignment on global hardware standards and system releases
  • Design and maintain national operational workflows in ARIS, ensuring all checkout and ESL processes meet international standards while maximizing store-level efficiency
  • Lead the digitalization of manual store processes and advance high-impact projects, including AI-driven solutions and Scan & Go development, to keep the brand at the forefront of retail technology
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of sales technologies, including Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL), by overseeing budgeting, inventory strategy, and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Translate raw performance data and competitive 360-degree store analyses into actionable merchandising and sales system strategies
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies by developing training materials, FAQs, SOPs and facilitating regional exchange sessions to share best practices and strategic initiatives like 'SCO First'
  • Manage complex project documentation, including profitability calculations and impact reporting, to ensure all sales system initiatives support broader business objectives and ROI

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Proven ability to make informed, timely decisions under pressure and in time‑sensitive situations
  • Ability to empower and train regional and store personnel to effectively operate and maintain new sales systems and technologies

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Software knowledge in the following a plus: SAP, Power-Bi
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Understanding of retail operations, store processes, and checkout workflows
  • German language skills

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field
  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above

Preferred Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Math & Science, Technology, or Engineering
  • 2-4 years of relevant professional experience in retail operations, supply chain, or a technology-related discipline
  • Experience in Project Management, Retail Operations, or Information Technology
  • PMP Certification

Physical Job Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Travel Requirements

  • This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers up to 30% of the time
  • This position requires overnight domestic travel less than 10% of the time
