QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of relevant sales, phone sales, sales training, training, or sales leadership experience. 
  • Proven experience in a phone sales environment. 
  • Experience with one-call-close sales is strongly preferred. 
  • Prior experience training sales representatives in a group setting is strongly preferred.
  • Strong coaching, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. 
  • The ability to motivate new salespeople while holding them accountable to clear expectations.
  • Comfort working in a remote environment and leading virtual training sessions. 
    Strong understanding of rapport-building, objection handling, closing techniques, and script adherence. 
  • Ability to identify sales talent, coachability, and performance red flags early in the training process. 
  • Confidence providing direct feedback to trainees and recommendations to leadership.
  • A sharp, professional, energetic, and team-oriented approach. 
  • The ability to collaborate closely with sales management, recruiting, and senior leadership.
  • Ability to work 9am – 6pm EST Monday through Friday.

Preferred Qualifications

The following are not required, but are strongly preferred:

  • Experience training remote sales teams.
  • Experience in membership sales, professional services, coaching, consulting, or other relationship-based phone sales environments.
  • Experience reviewing calls or using sales dashboards, call-monitoring tools, CRM systems, or other sales performance platforms.
  • Experience helping improve sales scripts, training materials, onboarding programs, or ramp-up processes.
  • Prior success developing new sales representatives into consistent performers.


Remote Work Expectations

Because this is a remote role, the Sales Trainer should have a professional and reliable remote work setup, including:

  • A reliable computer or laptop.
  • High-speed internet access.
  • A quality headset or microphone.
  • Webcam capability for virtual training sessions and meetings.
  • A quiet, professional workspace suitable for training, coaching, and calls.
  • The ability to access and use company systems, documents, scripts, dashboards, and communication platforms securely.
  • The company will provide or coordinate access to any required internal systems, accounts, training materials, scripts, reports, and communication platforms needed for the role.
RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sales Trainer’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage the weekly virtual sales training program for new remote sales representatives.
  • Train new hires on the organization’s products, services, sales process, scripts, systems, performance expectations, and overall sales methodology.
  • Teach rapport-building, customer communication, script adherence, objection handling, closing techniques, and professional phone presence.
  • Help trainees understand and consistently apply the organization’s scripted, consultative, one-call-close sales approach.
  • Facilitate group training sessions, individual coaching, role-playing exercises, mock calls, call reviews, and practical sales exercises.
  • Monitor trainee progress throughout the training cycle and provide clear, direct, and constructive feedback.
  • Evaluate trainees based on aptitude, attitude, coachability, attendance, participation, communication skills, and overall sales potential.
  • Partner with recruiting, sales management, and organizational leadership to provide feedback on candidates and new hires throughout the hiring and training process.
  • Make recommendations regarding trainee readiness, retention, additional coaching needs, and overall suitability for the role.
  • Update and improve training materials, scripts, call examples, exercises, and onboarding resources as needed.
  • Reinforce sales standards, compliance expectations, and customer communication guidelines throughout the training process.
  • Provide refresher training, group coaching, and targeted workshops for existing sales representatives as needed.
  • Deliver regular feedback to leadership regarding training outcomes, trainee performance, curriculum effectiveness, and opportunities for improvement.

Our client, a rapidly growing professional organization, is seeking an experienced, energetic, and hands-on Sales Trainer to lead and strengthen its remote phone sales training program.

This position is responsible for onboarding, developing, and preparing new remote sales representatives for success in a high-performing, scripted, one-call-close phone sales environment. The Sales Trainer will take ownership of the existing training curriculum and ensure that new hires understand the organization’s products and services, sales process, scripts, systems, compliance expectations, objection-handling techniques, and closing methodology.
