Salesclerk- Animal Health
Reports to: Store Manager, Assistant Manager or Supervisor on duty.
Classification:  Non-Exempt / Hourly, Part-Time
 
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide the best customer service and maximize sales through efficient execution of Company procedures and to uphold the Gold Standards.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Assist customers in finding products and provide them with relevant product information that may enhance their understanding.
  2. Verify proper product rotation and basic stocking of merchandise.
  3. Utilize the handheld Telxon device to ensure precise inventory management. 
  4. Adhere to Company protocols regarding department merchandising and the establishment of store advertisements.
  5. Ensure a secure and clean work environment while following loss prevention and safety procedures.
  6. Assist customers with special order requests and sales.
  7. Attend store and job-related meetings along with completion of required Company web-based Outfitter training.
  8. Engage in effective communication with customers, management, and all store personnel.
  9. Follow all applicable Company, local, state and federal guidelines.
  10. Ensure that your workspace is clean and adequately stocked with the necessary materials to fulfill your responsibilities.
  11. As needed, operate cash registers and assist with customer carry outs.
  12. Schedule flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  13. Ability to operate pallet jacks and/or tow motors.
  14. Weightlifting capability up to and including 50 lbs.
  15. Consistent attendance for regularly scheduled work shifts is required.
  16. Other duties and responsibilities that may be required to meet the needs of the business.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete special projects as directed by management and any additional responsibilities may be assigned throughout the store at any given time.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. Minimum Age requirement is 16 years old.
  2. Must possess great customer service and communication skills.
  3. An optimistic attitude coupled with a strong enthusiasm for working alongside colleagues who are eager to develop.
