Summary: The Salesforce Architect / Developer serves as the technical leader and primary solution architect for the organization's Salesforce platform. This role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting scalable Salesforce solutions that align with business objectives and enterprise technology standards. The position combines strategic platform architecture with hands-on development responsibilities, ensuring that the Salesforce ecosystem remains secure, maintainable, integrated, and optimized to support business growth.
The Salesforce Architect / Developer partners closely with business leaders, Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Operations, IT, and third-party vendors to translate business requirements into technical solutions. This role provides technical leadership for Salesforce architecture, application development, integrations, data management, automation, platform governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties:
- Design and maintain the overall Salesforce platform architecture, ensuring scalability, security, performance, and alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the development, configuration, customization, and deployment of Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and related platforms as applicable.
- Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical designs, solution architectures, and implementation plans.
- Design and develop custom Salesforce applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, Flows, APIs, and related technologies.
- Architect and support enterprise integrations between Salesforce and internal or external business systems, including ERP, marketing, customer service, supply chain, and data platforms.
- Establish and maintain Salesforce development standards, coding practices, governance processes, and platform best practices.
- Lead solution design reviews and provide technical guidance for Salesforce projects and enhancements.
- Evaluate existing system architecture and identify opportunities for optimization, simplification, automation, and modernization.
- Design and implement data models, security models, sharing rules, role hierarchies, and permission structures.
- Support data migration, data governance, data quality, and master data management initiatives.
- Develop technical documentation including solution designs, architecture diagrams, integration specifications, and deployment procedures.
- Manage platform releases, environment strategies, code deployment processes, and application lifecycle management activities.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize enhancements and establish platform roadmaps.
- Monitor platform performance, security compliance, user adoption, and system utilization metrics.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Salesforce administrators, developers, analysts, and support personnel as appropriate.
- Research emerging Salesforce technologies, features, and industry best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all Salesforce solutions comply with applicable security, privacy, regulatory, and company standards.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Business Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience working with Salesforce platforms in development, administration, architecture, or technical leadership roles.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Salesforce solution architecture and enterprise application design.
- Deep knowledge of Salesforce architecture, platform capabilities, and development frameworks.
- Experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, SOQL, SOSL, Salesforce APIs, and integration technologies.
- Experience designing and supporting integrations utilizing REST, SOAP, middleware platforms, ETL tools, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps methodologies, source control management, and deployment automation tools.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex Salesforce implementations, upgrades, and transformation initiatives.
- Experience with data architecture, master data management, and enterprise system integration strategies.
- Salesforce certifications preferred, including:
- Salesforce Certified Application Architect
- Salesforce Certified System Architect
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I and II
- Salesforce Certified Administrator
- Salesforce Certified Sharing and Visibility Architect
- Salesforce Certified Integration Architect
