Salesforce Engineer

Summary

We are seeking a Salesforce Engineer to join an evolving technology team that is leading innovation across all departments. This engineer will be responsible for implementing and supporting the CRM platform to drive efficiency, monitor metrics, and automate processes across current and future technology products. The Salesforce Engineer will maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled software engineer who considers all aspects of the project, can gather requirements, design and develop applications, and create automated tests for delivered features, and has the skills to design, configure, and develop custom solutions as part of an Agile development team building enterprise-grade CRM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, and program-increment planning.
  • Consult with stakeholders to understand current functionality, business needs, and the complexity of adding new features.
  • Estimate project effort for small to medium-sized initiatives.
  • Collaborate across engineering, Admin, Product, and Business teams to align on requirements and delivery expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with the Leadership Team to ensure technical decisions support organizational goals.
  • Provide high-level architecture guidance and develop specifications to resolve software challenges.
  • Create strategic technical designs for small-scale projects within the team.
  • Influence and educate stakeholders by prototyping, presenting demos, and promoting platform capabilities.
  • Analyze, design, code, debug, test, and modify software and enhancements to align with platform capabilities.
  • Debug complex issues that span multiple systems, involve intricate business logic, or require low-level troubleshooting.
  • Provide escalated technical support to internal users across various product categories, resolving issues according to established procedures.
  • Assist sales agents and sales managers as needed to ensure smooth CRM operations.
  • Work across departments to oversee process progress and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Share knowledge within the team through mentorship, coaching, technical talks, and written content.
  • Develop, mentor, and coach CRM administrators and engineers to strengthen the team's capabilities and support career growth.
  • Propose and lead process improvement initiatives related to development, deployment, or application monitoring.
  • Complete other assigned duties as requested to support the team and organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent; or 6+ years of relevant non-internship experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 4+ years of software and application development experience (or 6+ years in lieu of a degree), including exposure to .NET, C#, JavaScript, React.js, SQL Server, and strong Object-Oriented Programming principles.
  • Deep knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud.
  • Advanced Salesforce development skills in Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Flow.
  • Experience managing and leading projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Proficiency in database technologies and strong SQL capabilities.
  • Ability to design and build APIs, including .NET Core API development and API management tools.
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, including Lightning Web Components and integration patterns.
  • Expertise in application security, including OAuth frameworks and OWASP best practices.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise system design, API architecture, and integration patterns.
  • Proficiency in automated unit and functional testing.
  • Strong understanding of development processes and the full SDLC, with in-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in generating and documenting requirements and user stories.
  • Ability to document technical work including process workflows, architecture diagrams, and design specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that support team development and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to work effectively across internal partners including Engineering, Product, Admin, and Business teams.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and consistently follow through.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to design effective business solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication.
  • Willingness to participate in the on-call process as part of operational support.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of the Financial or Bankcard industry and related procedures.

This is a 6-month hybrid Contract-for-Hire opportunity with our Minneapolis, MN client. This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule; up to three days per week may be worked remotely in accordance with the telecommuting policy.
