Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA), is searching for a Salesforce Business Analyst for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Higher Education clients in Adelphi, MD.
Hybrid schedule preferred with onsite presence 1-2 days per week at UMGC headquarters. Remote candidates located within the United States and working ET hours will also be considered.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead discovery workshops with key stakeholders to understand business objectives, problem statements, current state processes, and targeted outcomes
  • Gather, analyze, document, and refine business and functional requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Translate business requirements into solution specifications aligned with Salesforce platform capabilities and product roadmap initiatives
  • Partner closely with Solutions, Product, and Engineering teams to support delivery of scalable Salesforce solutions
  • Design business processes, workflow diagrams, process maps, and functional specifications
  • Drive stakeholder communication for enhancements, defects, sprint deliverables, demos, and backlog prioritization
  • Demonstrate Salesforce platform capabilities and AppExchange solutions aligned to business needs
  • Assess and recommend Salesforce best practices, features, and process improvements
  • Support Agile delivery processes including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, and user acceptance testing
  • Maintain documentation including architecture artifacts, traceability matrices, requirements, workflows, and system procedures
  • Provide project coordination support including milestone tracking, risk identification, and delivery planning
  • Stay current on Salesforce releases, roadmap updates, and AppExchange technologies
  • Serve as a trusted advisor between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams
Required Skills:
  • 7+ years of experience leading discovery workshops and gathering/documenting business requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Salesforce Business Analyst and/or Salesforce Administrator
  • Salesforce Admin Certification (ADM-201)
  • Strong experience with Salesforce Service Cloud
  • Experience with Omni-Channel, Communities, Case Management, Knowledge, CTI, SMS, and Chat integrations
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, CRM data structures, and Salesforce best practices
  • Experience decomposing business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Experience working within Agile environments using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
  • Experience creating business process maps, workflow diagrams, functional specifications, mockups, and wireframes
  • Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working independently in remote and hybrid team environments
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and Agile delivery frameworks
Preferred Skills:
  • Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant certification
  • Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant certification
  • Salesforce Education Cloud Consultant certification
  • Experience with Education Cloud
  • Experience with Marketing Cloud
  • Experience with Einstein Analytics
  • Prior USM and/or UMGC experience
  • Consulting background supporting enterprise Salesforce initiatives
  • Experience within higher education environments
