Job Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor PT is a member of the Workforce Training and Continuing Education staff. The instructor serves as an Instructor for CNA classes.
This is a part-time position and will be based in Salmon, Idaho
Typical Job Functions
- Delivery of the online didactic portion of the class, as well as the in-person lab skills
- Maintain strict adherence to CNA State and Federal guidelines for procedure, practice, and operation
- Maintain current professional knowledge, and conduct while adhering to the standards of CEI, Workforce Training & Continuing Education (WTCE), and Idaho Career Technical Education (CTE)
- Respond to student/instructor/staff written and verbal communications
- Report problems with students to the Programs Director/Healthcare Programs Manager
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications
- A current unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Idaho
- Evidence of two (2) years' experience working as a registered nurse
- Evidence of one (1) year experience in caring for the elderly in a long-term care facility or long-term care of the elderly as an RN
- Before starting, must be approved by the Idaho DHW as an approved CNA Instructor and show evidence of completing Train-the-Trainer type program if not already completed
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient skills using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to operate all standard office equipment
- Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards in a diverse workplace
- Willing to work on a flexible schedule to meet educational requirements
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to deal with student issues and resolve problems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with students, coworkers, and the community, as a representative of CEI and WTCE
- Ability to look at situations from several points of view
- Well-developed creative and analytical thinking skills and the ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills in daily tasks
- Well-organized and detail-oriented with the ability to stay organized while switching tasks
- Incumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently, CEI doesn't sponsor H-1B Visas)
Additional Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Canvas, Schoology, or similar Learning Management System
- Skilled in teaching adult learners, and teaching in an online and face-to-face setting
- Bilingual (Spanish)

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not necessarily from occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions
On-site work is essential, and regular, predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours.
Background Investigations:
Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation, depending on the position. Please refer to Policy 225: Background Checks
