Description
Coordinate front desk operations and provide client services support for WCTC's Style and Class Salon. Assist with training students in reception and front desk duties.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage front desk operations for WCTC's Style and Class Salon. Greet clients, answer phone calls, and respond to emails and inquiries from clients and industry professionals.
- Manage client booking software, maintain accurate appointment schedules, and serve as the software administrator.
- Assist in training Cosmetology program students in front desk reception duties and provide guidance on client interaction and customer service.
- Monitor salon sales and revenue, generate basic reports for the Director and instructors.
- Assist with inventory tracking and maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the front desk and reception area in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Assist with tours or visits by prospective students and clients. Support service learning events as needed
- Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities.
Minimum Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of salon and spa operations, practices, and terminology
- Familiarity with related health and safety practices
- Strong interpersonal communication skills - oral, written, and listening
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with students and all levels of staff and faculty
- Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work processes
- Ability to multi-task, work on and coordinate several activities/projects simultaneously, and an aptitude to work under pressure Ability to manage time, organize and prioritize work
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team and/or with minimal supervision Ability to make routine repairs and adjustments on related equipment
- Intermediate level computer software application skills in word processing and spreadsheets
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma
- Currently enrolled in or completion of a technical diploma or associates degree in Cosmetology, Aesthetics, or related field, preferred
- One year experience in a salon, spa, or a personal services environment preferred
- Wisconsin Cosmetology or Aesthetician license, preferred
Supplemental Information
The Salon & Spa Front Desk Specialist is a part-time position. They will coordinate front desk operations and provide client services support for WCTC's Style and Class Salon, while assisting with training students in reception and front desk duties.
The position is scheduled for up to 29 hours per week, which will include the evenings and weekends.
Please note: This position will be required to work nights and weekends. Coverage is needed Monday through Thursday from 5:00pm to 10:00pm and Saturdays from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Additional coverage may be needed during the daytime.
The position is available to start on or before September 1st.
