Job Summary: The Sample Coordinator/Customer Service Representative is responsible for managing customer sample requests, providing exceptional customer support, and ensuring samples are prepared, sewn, and shipped accurately and on time. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, along with hands-on sewing experience to assemble and prepare product samples that meet customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, process, and coordinate customer sample requests.
Communicate with customers regarding sample availability, timelines, and order status.
Sew and assemble product samples according to customer specifications and quality standards.
Operate industrial sewing machines and perform basic sewing alterations or repairs as needed.
Prepare, package, label, and ship samples to customers in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records of sample requests, inventory, and shipments.
Coordinate with production, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure sample materials are available.
Inspect finished samples for quality, accuracy, and workmanship before shipment.
Manage sample inventory and reorder materials as necessary.
Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email while providing professional customer service.
Enter customer information, sample requests, and shipping details into company systems.
Assist with special customer projects and administrative duties as assigned.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications:
Previous customer service or administrative experience in a manufacturing or textile environment preferred.
Sewing experience is required, including the ability to operate industrial sewing machines.
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality sewn samples.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer applications.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in the textile, upholstery, furniture, or fabric industry.
Knowledge of fabrics, patterns, and sewing techniques.
Shipping and receiving experience.
Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems.
Strong multitasking abilities and commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
