Client Overview: Our client is a leading national retail company seeking an organized and detail-oriented
Sample Processor to support the Merchandising and Product teams within a corporate office environment.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $18/hr
Position Overview: The Sample Processor will provide administrative and operational support to Merchandising and Product teams by receiving, tracking, organizing, photographing, and managing physical product samples. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, comfortable working in an office environment, and enjoys a combination of computer-based administrative work and hands-on tasks.
Responsibilities of the Sample Processor:- Track expected samples and communicate sample needs and deadlines to vendors.
- Receive, unpack, organize, and label physical product samples.
- Record sample receipts and update sample records using internal systems.
- Print and attach barcodes to samples to maintain accurate tracking.
- Photograph physical samples and upload images to digital records.
- Organize and maintain sample storage areas and keep sample locations updated.
- Pull samples for the Merchant and Product team reviews.
- Assist with sample review meetings by preparing samples and documenting feedback.
- Record buyer notes, sample approvals, and feedback in internal systems.
- Communicate sample feedback to vendors via email.
- Track and follow up on late or outstanding samples.
- Manage the disposal or donation of approved samples in coordination with internal teams.
- Support additional administrative and sample management tasks as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Sample Processor:- At least 1 year of related work or retail experience.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in an office environment while also performing hands-on physical tasks.
- Ability to unpack boxes and move product samples or sample racks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately maintain records.
- Team player who is flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 35 pounds.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Sample Processor:- Previous experience in retail, merchandising, fashion, product development, or a corporate office environment.
- Experience working with physical product samples or inventory.
- Experience using databases, inventory systems, or sample tracking tools.
- Strong administrative and data-entry skills.
Education Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A four-year degree is not required for this position.
