Sample Registration Technician

Position Overview: We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Sample Registration Technician to join our laboratory team. This role is responsible for receiving and registering incoming samples, entering data into our laboratory system, and ensuring samples are accurately tracked throughout the testing process. The ideal candidate has a science-related degree or some laboratory experience, is comfortable with technology and data entry, and brings a positive attitude with a willingness to learn. This position also offers the opportunity to gain exposure to microbiology laboratory work over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, label, and register incoming laboratory samples.
• Enter sample information accurately into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Verify sample data and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain organized records and support quality control requirements.
• Prepare and manage samples for laboratory testing.
• Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
• Keep workstations, glassware, and sample areas clean and organized.
• Communicate effectively with team members to maintain workflow and sample turnaround times.
• Assist with additional laboratory support tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Associate"s or Bachelor"s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or another scientific field OR relevant laboratory experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with computers and learning new software systems.
• Positive attitude, dependable work ethic, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred

• Previous laboratory, sample receiving, or shipping/receiving experience.
• Experience with data entry or LIMS software.

Work Environment

• Monday-Friday schedule, with start times between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM.
• Fast-paced laboratory sample receiving area.
• Small, collaborative team environment where communication and teamwork are essential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Jackson, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
