Job Description

Performs efficiency studies (assays) and pre-clinical exploratory safety studies. Performs testing of clinical, research and quality control proficiency; evaluates instruments. Evaluates and analyzes clinical research data. Coordinates activities of associates and investigators to ensure compliance with protocol and overall clinical objectives. Manages storage of research samples.

Job Description Summary:

You will join a team of dedicated laboratory support professionals to participate in the development and management of a best-in-class sample and material management program. You will have the opportunity to leverage and develop your skills in material and sample handling to ensure the procedures for collection, storage and shipment of specimens are following industry best practices. You will liaise with scientists and support staff under the direction of the onsite sample manager to ensure samples are available to scientists in a timely manner. Bring your experience working in a regulated environment to manage sample transfers and resolve discrepancies with central Labs and other sample analysis or storage CROs. You will be a key partner for the Bioanalytical, Biomarkers, Diagnostics, and other internal stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

· Responsible for the receipt and entry of materials that support inventory management of proteins, critical reagents, test articles, biological and clinical samples

· Performing any combination of sample management tasks, including labeling, preparing for shipping, transporting to labs, inventory, and disposal

· Reviewing and verifying sample paperwork against samples to ensure accuracy and communicate discrepancies

· Maintaining sample management binders and preparing documents for yearly archival

· Supporting team members as needed on various R&D projects

· Ensuring compliance and accurate documentation in accordance with working instructions, SOPs, and applicable regulations

Critical Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

· A high school diploma or GED is required, or an Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline preferred with 0-2 years of related work experience

· Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, detail oriented and highly accurate

· Experience working in a laboratory environment

· The ability to establish a sound working rapport and win the trust of and others

· Self-motivated and interested working in a complex environment

· Ability to effectively present information and a willingness to assist others

· High level of proficiency in MS Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience

Working Environment:

· Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) in the laboratory.

· Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.

· Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time

· The person needs to occasionally move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite Frequently operate on instruments, objects, tools or controls, which will require regularly bending, squatting, stretching and reaching in order to perform in a service function.

· Occasionally move or lift up to 25 pounds (potential for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds).

· Specific vision abilities required by this position include without limitation, the ability to observe details at close range distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in order to perform the essential service functions of this position.

· Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

· Employee may be required to handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations. Duties may include identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing and labeling hazardous waste.

· Potential risk to lab-based hazards including but not limited to extreme temperature, biological materials, and hazardous chemicals.

· May be required to complete Medical Clearance, Respiratory Protection Training, and Fit Testing to wear a respirator as protection against hazards present in the laboratory environment.

The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $60,000 to $65,000. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
