Position Summary:

The Sample Technician will report to the Process and Validation Engineer and will be responsible to perform duties to set up and cycle a variety of plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment and make process adjustments to achieve optimum cycle efficiencies and ensure proper function and quality of parts.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work from prints, specifications and shop orders
• Develop and document robust injection molding processes for new and existing tooling.
• Work closely with Tooling, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing departments.
• Troubleshoot process & tooling/part problems
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis of factors affecting overall product quality
• Identify Continuous Improvement ideas associated within daily duties and overall department performance
• Responsible to instruct and coach Mold Technicians
• Coordinate tools being shipped and received
• Coordinate tool stamping and photo documentation for BUCs
• Use personal computer, dial / digital calipers, gauges, hand tools, hand/power lift trucks and overhead cranes
• Possess a thorough understanding of all machinery, auxiliary equipment, materials & tooling
• Record and communicate sample results to interested parties
• Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

• Completion of General Technician Job Criteria
• Ability to perform Mold Technician Job Criteria
• Satisfactory completion of the Routsis Training Program with a passing score of 80%
• Must possess and apply strong scientific injection molding skill set
• Ability to work with within a detailed system/process
• Ability to train others in safety systems and processing
• Ability to lift 55 lbs.
• Minimum 5 years of technical experience with plastic injection molding, along with hands on experience with raw materials, mold set-up, and strong-troubleshooting skills for electric injection machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Qualified candidate will possess good work ethics, be reliable, and display dedication to quality. Must enjoy a fast-paced environment.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office required
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (English) across all departments
• Excellent visual skills and reasoning ability
• Team player who demonstrates the ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organization

Compensation Information:

$33-38 per hour
