Sandblaster

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an experienced Sandblaster with confined and enclosed space blasting experience for our client, an industrial coatings company serving commercial and industrial customers throughout the greater Phoenix, AZ area.

Pay & Schedule

Pay: $28.00/hour+, DOE

Shift: Day Shift (hours may vary based on job site and weather conditions)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sandblasting in field environments including tank interiors, piping systems, and confined spaces

• Prepare surfaces through sandblasting, cleaning, and sanding to meet specified profile and cleanliness requirements

• Inspect completed blast work to verify quality, coverage, and compliance with project specifications

• Identify and communicate surface defects, contamination, or preparation issues prior to coating application

• Maintain blasting equipment, hoses, nozzles, and related tools in good working condition

• Follow all safety protocols including confined space entry procedures, respiratory protection, and PPE requirements

• Support additional field tasks as needed

Required Qualifications

• Experience with field sandblasting, tank blasting, and confined space blasting

• Ability to work inside tanks and other confined spaces throughout the shift

• Comfortable wearing and working in a supplied-air or air-purifying respirator

• Familiarity with SSPC surface preparation standards and blasting codes

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Ability to perform physical work throughout the shift including lifting, standing, and working in tight spaces

• Ability to work in inclement and hot weather environments

Work Environment

This role operates primarily in confined and enclosed space environments, including tank interiors, piping systems, and other tight-access industrial structures at job sites throughout the greater Phoenix, AZ area. Extended periods of work inside tanks and enclosed spaces should be expected each shift. Work involves exposure to abrasive materials, dust, and industrial conditions. Respirator use and full PPE compliance are required at all times.
