    Description

    Summary/Objective:

    Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the sanitation worker’s position is primarily responsible for sanitizing/cleaning the production facility, cheese racks and production equipment according to the company’s procedures. In addition, this position should have a basic understanding of the equipment and equipment’s function along with chemical application awareness and can perform basic equipment breakdowns.

    Essential Functions:

    • Sanitizing and cleaning areas of the production area.
    • Daily washing of cheese racks.
    • Must be able to lift less/more than 40 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Must be able to twist, squat and reach above shoulder level.
    • Must be able to work effectively in a team-based environment set priorities and to meet deadlines.
    • Maintain all necessary equipment and tools.
    • Start and stop machinery to ensure appropriate cleaning is completed per GMP standards.
    • Ability to be able to work quickly/ accurately and to concentrate over a long period of time.
    • Maintains safe and clean working environment, by complying with rules, regulations and procedures, following GMP guidelines.
    • Sound knowledge about safety measures.
    • Other duties assigned as needed.

    Skills:

    • Must be able to work effectively in a team-based environment, set priorities to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks and make decisions under pressure.
    • Previous manufacturing and/or food production experience if preferable.
    • Ability to work with others in a fast-paced team environment.
    • Excellent ability to stand for long periods of time.
    • Ability to effectively understand and follow a variety of guidelines and work procedures (including health, safety, hygiene and sanitation)
    • Prioritize and organize workload.
