Job Summary
Vistra Corp is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join its team in a hybrid role based in the Dallas Fort Worth area. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in modern SAP ABAP development, with a focus on clean-core development principles and SAP-recommended extensibility techniques.
The developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting SAP applications using standard SAP APIs, released CDS Views, BADIs, extension points, RAP-based services, and OData services, while minimizing custom modifications and following SAP best practices. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain SAP ABAP applications and enhancements.
Develop solutions using standard SAP APIs and released SAP objects wherever possible.
Build and consume OData services for SAP and external application integrations.
Develop and enhance Core Data Services (CDS Views).
Implement business requirements using Business Add-Ins (BADIs) and SAP extension frameworks.
Develop applications using the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
Design and develop integration solutions following SAP clean-core principles.
Perform code reviews, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization.
Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and technical teams to deliver scalable SAP solutions.
Create technical documentation and participate in testing and deployment activities.
Ensure solutions comply with SAP development standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
Strong experience with ABAP programming.
Experience developing and consuming OData Services.
Hands-on experience with CDS Views (Core Data Services).
Experience implementing BADIs and SAP enhancement frameworks.
Experience with SAP Extension Points.
Experience with SAP RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model).
Experience using standard SAP APIs and released SAP objects.
Strong understanding of SAP integration concepts.
Experience with debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting ABAP applications.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
