Role: SAP ABAP Developer with hands-on experience in SAP BODS

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled SAP ABAP Developer with hands-on experience in SAP BODS to join our SAP team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining custom ABAP programs, interfaces, reports, and data integration workflows using SAP BusinessObjects Data Services. This role involves collaboration with functional consultants, data architects, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and efficient solutions in the SAP ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and implement custom SAP ABAP programs, enhancements, forms, and interfaces.
• Develop ETL jobs and workflows using SAP BODS for data extraction, transformation, and loading across SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Create and maintain IDOCs, BAPIs, RFCs, ALV reports, SmartForms, and SAPScripts.
• Participate in full-cycle SAP implementations, upgrades, and support projects.
• Collaborate with business and functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ABAP code and BODS data integration.
• Monitor BODS jobs for performance and resolve scheduling/data load failures.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and documentation guidelines.
• Support data migration and data cleansing activities.
• Maintain version control and support deployment processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10-12+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development.
• 5+ years of experience in SAP BODS development and ETL processes.
• Proficiency in classic and object-oriented ABAP.
• Strong understanding of SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, HCM, or others).
• Experience in working with data dictionaries, modularization techniques, performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with BODS components: Designer, Job Server, Repository, and Management Console.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and integration with SAP BW or HANA is a plus.
• Experience with SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and data migration tools preferred.
• Familiarity with SLT, LSMW, or SAP Data Services migration methodology is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
